European Paper Bag Day 2021
18th October 2021 was the 4th celebration of European Paper Bag Day. This day has been established to raise awareness among consumers about paper carrier bags. It highlights that paper carrier bags are a sustainable and efficient packaging solution that contributes to fighting climate change and environmental pollution.
At Smith Anderson we wanted to support this day fully. We did this in a number of ways; boxes of our reusable paper carrier bag were donated to local foodbanks and charities, packs of our reusable carrier bags were distributed to staff and we ran competitions internally and externally to further promote the day.
Our external competition featured two local primary schools. Falkland & Leslie primary school. We tasked the pupils to design the most creative thing that they could think of. We deliberately left the brief open to interpretation, this was to allow the pupils to be as imaginative as they wanted to be.
We were blown away by all of the designs that we received. We have been showcasing many of the entries around the site for all to see.
