FPA Innovation Award 2017
The FPA (Food Packaging Association) awards were held at The Grand Hotel Brighton on the 9th March 2017.
Smith Anderson had two products highly commended for product innovation and our Wrap product for Deli 2 Go won the award outright.
The customer we sell to currently use a Smith Anderson greaseproof FFR (fill fold n’ roll) wrap for hot Paninis and Toasties in their Deli 2 Go range within Shell garage forecourts. The food item is cooked and then placed in a hot cabinet for up to 2 hours.
At Smith Anderson we are continually evolving our designs and we experimented with other substrates to construct the wrap in such a way to enhance the product and therefore the consumer experience. We created a wrap that has a functional non-stick barrier, enabling oily foods like cheese to release freely and not stick to the packaging. This makes the eating experience much better for the consumer and they do not get messy hands.
We are delighted to have won this award as we continually innovate with our products and to have this recognition is fantastic for our business, our customer and their consumers.
