Keep Scotland Beautiful
Major paper bag manufacturer Smith Anderson has offered support to our anti-roadside litter campaign by producing bespoke car litter bags that allow road users to take their rubbish home with them.
This partnership between Smith Anderson and Keep Scotland Beautiful will see the deployment of over 33,600 litter bags, initially through various car hire companies. Making it easier for road users to dispose of their litter sensibly, these car litter bags will offer a simple alternative to throwing litter from vehicles, which is crucial given that 82.8% of motorways and A class roadside verges recorded a presence of litter in 2016/2017 (LEAMS).
This announcement comes following Smith Anderson achieving a Gold award as part of our National Award for Environmental Excellence® in June 2017, for its continued commitment to improving local environmental quality.
